A return transfer, a vehicle waiting for you and a multi-stop hire are different arrangements. List each address, time and duration first, then decide whether you need continuous availability or separate transfers. “Returning the same day” does not automatically reserve a car throughout the day.
Who this guide is for
Use this for business visits, family calls, exhibitions or a day with several destinations. Visiting a factory, having lunch and returning to Hong Kong is different from a morning drop-off followed by an independently arranged evening pickup.
You can mark an uncertain meeting finish as a range and state when it will be updated. Do not turn an estimate into a firm commitment just to complete an enquiry.
Choose the type of arrangement
Select according to the length and flexibility of the visit. A separate return may use a different vehicle and does not imply exclusive access between journeys.
- One way plus a separate return: each transfer has its own agreed pickup, useful for a longer, well-defined stay.
- Waiting hire: the vehicle remains available within agreed time and area limits; clarify included hours and extensions.
- Multiple stops: list destinations in order, stop durations and any crossings.
- Overnight return: give a separate calendar date, not merely “tomorrow”.
Make a five-column itinerary
For each stop, record: order, place, arrival/departure time, duration, and whether the timing is fixed or flexible. Separating a fixed meeting from a flexible lunch makes the plan easier to assess.
- First leg: full pickup address, date, time and group size.
- Each stop: address, entrance, contact and expected duration.
- Return: meeting point, departure time and arrival deadline.
- Changes: passengers, luggage, shopping or exhibition materials added or removed.
- Buffer: border procedures, boarding and handling bags, not only map driving times.
Agree on waiting and changes
Ask when waiting starts, how much is included, how extra time and stops are charged, and whether finishing early changes the price. A car booking is not automatically unlimited hire.
For an uncertain finish, offer a time window and agree when to update it. Send the full address of an extra stop before diverting so the time and cost impact can be assessed without disrupting the return.
Check both directions separately
Confirm the dates, addresses, contacts, passengers, luggage and vehicle arrangement for each leg. If the return connects to a flight, include the flight and airport arrival deadline. HONGKONGGO serves the Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong and Macau throughout the year; a clear itinerary is the basis for discussing a multi-city plan.
Share one final version with the group and label it as the current plan. Let one contact consolidate changes and explicitly replace old addresses or times rather than leaving several competing versions in the conversation.
Your pre-journey checklist
- Separate return, waiting hire or multi-stop use is specified.
- Every stop has an address, time and expected duration.
- Extra time, extra stops and changes have clear terms.
- Both legs have their own dates, passengers and bags.
- Everyone has the same final itinerary.
